Bed bug infestations are one of the most disruptive pests we help our customers with. They are in your home, in your bed, and frankly it’s just disgusting. Since the mid-1990’s the number of bed bug cases have grown steadily in the U.S., and we have certainly seen an increase in the last several years here in Northeast Wisconsin.
At One Service Targeted Pest Control we help you verify if you do or do not have a bedbug infestation. We will help to educate you as to what can be done to eliminate the infestation, and provide tips to prevent bringing these hitchhikers home in the future. When you choose One Service to treat your home, we work hard to eliminate your bed bug infestation while keeping our pricing very competitive – feel free to shop around.
Did you Know?
Different people, different reactions. Some who are bit by a bed bug get quite a welt, while others have nearly no reaction. So if one person sharing a bed is getting bites and the other person is not, the truth is both are almost certainly getting bites, but only one person reacts.
People are the food of choice for bed bugs; our blood, that is. A bed bug feeds before it grows to its next stage of development. Each meal for a bed bug means they will soon molt and grow to the next stage. They can do this six times in their life.
We starve long before they do.
A bed bug may need to feed before growing to their next stage, but they can go a long time before their next meal… nearly a year. So if you hope to starve them out by storing an infested item, you’ll have to wait a long, long time - sorry!
Bed bug family members:
Did you know that there is a bat bug? They look so similar to the bed bug that magnification is typically needed to properly identify them. One big difference is that they prefer to feed from bats instead of humans. In fact, they need to feed from a bat to reproduce; they may bite some other warm-blooded animals, or even humans, but the bat bug cannot grow their family that way.
